Tweed River Rescue Skills Day
Come and join our annual rescue skills day in the Tweed River. It's a great site for this important refresher, with an average depth of about 8m. There will be Ocean Diver trainees in action too!
Date and Time: Saturday 9 December, Trainees will need to meet at 11:00 QLD time for 12:53 HW (QLD time). Divers who are just diving and attending the rescue practice will need to meet at 12:30 at the latest.
Meeting Point: Northern car park off Coral Street, Tweed Heads, NSW (the one by the beach and amenities block; yellow dot on the attached site guide.) Click here to view the site guide.
Organiser: Ian Dale - See Member List for email address and phone number.
Diver grades: All levels welcome!
Equipment: Full SCUBA kit including your own tank and weights. Divers should carry knife/line cutter, whistle, safety sausage or DSMB and reel, and snorkel.
Equipment hire: Contact Hannah for if you need to hire any club kit. Alternatively you can hire tank and weights etc. from Kirra Dive http://www.kirradive.com
Costs: No diving costs (apart from your own costs of tank fills and carpooling if required). Donations for food (see below).
Travel: Carpooling - Please let me know if you require carpooling.
Food: We'll try and recruit Carol Dale, our very own Masterchef, for a barbecue after the dive. We give a donation to the Dales for purchasing the food. We'll keep you posted!
