- Mask, fins, snorkel, BCD, regulators, tropical dive suit.
- Tanks, weights, dive guide included in the price.
- Divers should carry knife/line cutter, and whistle. DSMB and reel may be useful per pair of divers.
Operator: Aqua-Trek Beqa Dive Centre: http://www.aquatrek.com/ via Dive Adventures (http://www.diveadventures.com.au). They carry O2 kits but don't have Nitrox available.
Costs: The cost will be approximately $2,285, pending flights and exchange rates. It is advisable to book asap before flight costs start increasing.
Deposit is $800, payable after registration to confirm your place on the trip. To reserve your place please register on the BSAC website and then fill in the Dive Adventures online booking form (details will be emailed once the Brisbane BSAC registration has been completed). You should transfer the $800 deposit directly to Dive Adventures to avoid price changes between registering and payment. Direct bank transfers will not incur additional charges, credit card payments will incur a fee.
All costs are inclusive, except;
- Shark Marine Park fees – Fj$20 (approx. A$13) for shark dives
- Tropical breakfast is included in the price, likely to be something along the lines of a continental style cuisine (fruit, toast, tea, coffee). If you want something else, you will have to pay for the privilege.
- The only thing you need to buy there are your lunch and dinner daily, and any other sundries such as bottled water, alcohol, wifi etc.
Diving: This is warm water diving, with an average water temperature of 24-27 degrees centigrade. Bring a suitable dive suit. It is better to be too warm than too cold!
The dives will all be boat dives, so don't forget sea sickness medication if required!
The various dive sites can be seen on the Aqua-Trek website, our dive package includes six Soft Coral dives and four Ultimate Shark Encounter dives.
Other dive options may be available if you don't want to go shark diving. We would need a minimum of 4 non-shark divers to reserve the boat. Please indicate preference on the BSAC registration form and I will take a look at numbers. I have heard that the shark dives are a very unique experience.
Accommodation: Standard Bure rooms, see the resort website for more details:(http://uprisingbeachresort.com/beach-and-garden-bures/). I've not been there but the photos look good.
Catering: On site bar/restaurant, or it looks like we are a short walk to other options.
Visas: Australian passport holders do not currently need a visa to visit Fiji as a tourist.
