Tweed River Twilight Dive

Event information

This event is full.

Come along to a twilight dive at the Tweed river!

Divers have seen eagle rays, turtles, bull rays, yellow catfish, moray eels, octopus and other interesting visitors during the night. Check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUzaKOEBFcw. With just four days before new moon on 17 January, we should have a big tide (0.97m) with hopefully clear water and good visibility.

The Tweed river is an easy dive site, so that even less experienced divers can engage in their first night dive experience. Please note that if you have not done a night dive before, this would be considered a training dive and you must organise an appropriate buddy beforehand - let us know your plans before 9 January.

Times: Meeting time: 3:45-4:00 PM Queensland time; High tide is at 5:47 PM; Dive start will be 6:00 PM. Sunset is at 6:47 PM. Last light will occur just after the end of the dive.

Meeting Point: Parking area, Coral Street, Tweed heads

Organiser:  Gavin Wills

Another two volunteers for surface watch/assistant dive manager are needed please.

See Member List for email address and phone number.

Diver grades: All levels welcome.
