(Cancelled) Gold Coast Seaway Dive and BBQ/Picnic Lunch - HW 11:54

Event information

Registrations for this event are closed.

The Gold Coast Seaway offers a sheltered environment to refresh skills or just for a dive around the 'pipes'. The quantity and variety of marine life can be quite surprising. The adjacent grassy parkland area offers the opportunity for open-air socialising. We plan to have a barbeque for those interested. We will work out catering closer to the date. The kiosk also provides meals and takeaway items.

Any member who is (a) a financial member and (b)  whose skills and recent experience allow them to dive safely is welcome to come along and do your own thing. If you're rusty you'll need a suitable buddy and plan.

Maximum usual depth is 15m heading towards the middle of the channel. Conditions can be variable and the site is prone to tidal current so is usually dived around slack water.

Meeting places and times:

High Water/entry time is around 11:54AM. Tide is 1.3m. Slack is generally during the hour after HW.

  • Trainees: Please arrive at the time arranged with your instructor.
  • Cerified divers: You know how long it takes for you to kit up. Aim to be in the water around HW or when you decide is safe.
