Registrations for this event are closed.

We are running another oxygen administration course. This can be done as a formal Skill Development Course (SDC) or just as a refresher for important first aid skills.

Dive Leader trainees enrolled in the new 2023 course must enrol in the SDC.

It is open to all levels of diver, as this is a vital first aid skill for all divers assisting divers who have experienced diving accidents. Being competent in its use gives you the confidence to treat a diving-related injury either on a boat or on dry land. Note: This course will not give you an official Queensland/Australian O2 admin qualification.

Preference will be given to those who need the course for dive leader, or those who have not done the course before (or those who have not had a refresher for a long time).

The course includes a mixture of lectures and practical work, and will familiarise you with the Club's O2 equipment.

To enrol in the SDC go to this page, go to Oxygen Administration and select either the digital or hard copy pack. Digital pack costs £32.50. You will be required to pass a practical and theory test at the end of the course. If successful you can apply for an Oxygen Administration qualification card.

TIME: Be ready to start at 8.30am. The course will last most of the day.

PARKING: Parking is on site. There is a car park behind the library, or on the street in front of the library. The meeting room is on ground level, with separate access. If you look at the library from the road, it is to the right of the building.

LEVEL: Ocean Diver (or equivalent) and above.

FOOD: Please bring lunch / all food and drinks you want for the day, though there are cafes close by the library.  There is a fridge and kettle etc. on site to make drinks. Tea, coffee, milke etc and biscuits will be provided.

WHAT TO WEAR: Comfortable clothing / trousers (i.e. suitable for kneeling down and doing chest compressions)

WHAT TO BRING: Paper, pencil, enthusiasm! - Knee pad if your knees are a bit dodgy!!
