Cherubs Cave and Henderson Rock charter with Brisbane Scuba

Event information

This event is sold out.

Cherub’s Cave is 4km East of Moreton Island. There is a main bommie, surrounded by other bommies, rocky gullies, smaller caves and overhangs to explore. Cherub's itself is located under a large circular shaped bommie on the north-west side of the main bommie. It is a large, circular cave, roughly 20 by 15 metres, with kelp-covered entrances. Each opening leads you to a different dive on this varied and interesting site. Over Winter, Grey Nurse Sharks gather in the gutters in large numbers. Large schools of pelagic fish, including barracuda, kingfish and trevally, patrol the area, and divers will also encounter turtles, cod, gropers and wobbegong sharks and an abundance of macro life.

The depth at the site varies from 14m – 30m on the main bommie. This is a club charter. No shop guides will be provided. Divers certified to 30m will obviously be less limited on this site, but this is a dive for club members who can manage an offshore site, possibly with some swell and current. Water temperatures will be likely below 20*C so winter suits above and below the water are recommended.
