Event information
This event has passed.
The Tweed offers a sheltered environment to refresh skills or just for a tootle up the river collecting sinkers for diving weights, looking to see what's under those rocks and if you can find the bathtub and Buddha again. There will be Sports Diver training occurring from late morning in the harbour and river, but anyone else is welcome to come along and do your own thing. If anyone else would like training let us know and we will see if it can be fitted in.
Average depth is around 8m so it's perfect for all grades of divers.
Meeting places and times - All Times are Queensland times:
(Training Group) Sports Diver trainees and those wanting to participate in the diver rescue exercise on Little D-bar Beach, please meet at the Northern carpark - the one below the toilet block. Be unloaded, gear assembled and dressed for the 08:30 briefing on Little D-Bar beach. I'd suggest arriving no later than 08:00 but you know the time you need.
(Diving Group) Others having normal dive should meet at the Southern carpark near Jack Evans Harbour. Please arrive and be unloaded and kitted up for the 11:15 briefing. In water around 11:30. I'm estimating slack around midday, but we will assess actual current and conditions at the time. You know how long it takes for you to kit up.
