Flinders Reef, Smith Rock and Cementco - Moreton Island Sites

This trip is a great chance to visit sites that commercial operators do not normally visit, and at a great time of year for SEQ diving.

Sites around Moreton Island offer variety and scope for diving of all kinds. A few of the possible sites include:

  • Hutchinsons Shoal
  • Smith's Rock and surrounding reef
  • Cementco
  • The Marrietta Dal
  • The Aarhus
  • St Paul
  • Hendersons Rock and Cherubs Cave
  • Sites off the West coast of Moreton Island: Comboyuro Point; Car Bodies; Curtin Artificial Reef
  • Flinders Reef

Diver grades: This dive is suitable for Sports Divers and above assuming there is sufficient interest from this group. If there is not then we may look at doing a mixture of more advanced and less advanced sites.

Equipment: Divers must bring full diving kit including tanks and weights. Divers should carry knife/line cutter, whistle, DSMB and reel and snorkel.

Operator: Brisbane Scuba (Steve Rossberg). This is a charter for the club.

Costs: Approximately $120 to $140 per person depending on the sites selected

Diving: Depending on weather Sites off Cape Moreton

Travel: To Car Park East Coast Marina, Manly

Directions to Customer Parking

  • Heading south on Royal Esplanade, Manly, drive past the East Coast Marina entrance and take the next left turn into Davenport Drive.
  • Turn left immediately into the car and boat trailer carpark area. (Do not proceed to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.) Drive towards the toilet block and gate.
  • The will be a DiveQuest sign outside the gate. Please assemble here and one of our crew will come to escort you through the boatyard to our vessel.
