BSAC Nitrox dive planning workshops

Who is this for?

Two classroom workshops to bring anyone who has crossed over to BSAC from another agency up to speed with how BSAC plan dives using Nitrox, or for people who qualified with BSAC before Nitrox was integrated into the standard diver training program in 2007. You can do the workshops for interest, but if you would like a card to be able to get Nitrox fills and dive on Nitrox you will be required to pass a short multi-choice exam and then apply for a qualification card from BSAC UK (there is a small cost associated with this).

What will I learn?

There are two sessions, each workshop will take approximately 1.5 hours. We are planning on running them one after the other:

1. Ocean Diver Nitrox workshop - Introduction to Nitrox for people crossing over at Ocean Diver level or who have never done any Nitrox theory before. On completion of the Ocean Diver Nitrox Workshop you will have the knowledge necessary to dive safely in open water, within your existing qualification, using nitrox 32 or nitrox 36 on a no-stop dive. You will be able to plan nitrox dives using BSAC-88 tables or an air computer.

2. Sports Diver Nitrox workshop - If you haven't done any Nitrox training before then you will need to do Session 1 first to get the background information. On completion of the Sports Diver Nitrox Workshop you will have the knowledge necessary to dive safely in open water within your existing qualification using mixes up to nitrox 36 on a decompression dive. You will be able to plan nitrox dives using BSAC nitrox tables or a nitrox computer.
