Moreton Bay sites including Aarhus Wreck Dive

Event information

This event is sold out.

This trip is another chance to visit some great Moreton Bay sites. First dive is the Aarhus wreck followed by Marietta Dal wreck or Flinders Reef (depending on weather and conditions). A third dive may be possible.

Organiser: Tom Postin. See Member List for email address and phone number.

Diver grades: Because of the depth of the Aarhus wreck and the task loading expected, Ocean Divers may not participate in GIRT project work on the wreck. This is limited to Sports Divers and above who have attended the GIRT workshop. Divers, including Ocean Divers, may dive the Aarhus as a recreational dive if they are not participating in the GIRT project. Ocean Divers may not exceed 20m depth. Other sites may also be visited on this trip that are suitable for Ocean Divers.

GIRT workshop: To participate in the GIRT project, divers will have to have attended the GIRT workshop on 18 January.

Meeting and departure times: Note that the departure time is 5:00AM in order to dive slack water, meaning that the meeting time is 04:30AM.

Lunch: Lunch is provided. Divers with special dietary requirements may need to cater for themselves.

Equipment: Divers must bring full diving kit including tanks and weights. Divers should carry knife/line cutter, whistle, DSMB and reel and snorkel.

Equipment hire: Cylinders (air or nitrox) and weights can be provided at extra cost. Please let me know.

Operator: Brisbane Scuba (Steve Rossberg). This is a charter for the club.

Costs: $140 per person.

Waitlist: If the trip is fully booked on the website and you want to be put on a waitlist (in-case of drop outs or more spaces being added) please send me an email.
