Xmas in July & Tweed River Dive - CANCELLED - WEATHER

Hi All

In an effort to spice up our annual Xmas in July social function and also get us back into the groove of diving I am arranging a combined event - a Tweed River Dive with a BBQ Xmas in July Lunch afterwards.  We will hopefully give out the club awards after the diving has finished too but we won't do stealing santa this year. 

 

Please invite your spouses and partners to join us for the event (I'm sure they can be kept entertained during the 1hour dive).

 

Please make sure you have downloaded your permit that allows you to leave and re-enter Qld.

 

Average depth is around 8m so it's perfect for all grades of divers. 

 

Meeting places and times

Meet at the Northern carpark near the toilet block, I'll set up the Gazebo on the grass between the two car parks.   Please arrive and be unloaded and kitted up for the 11:30 briefing. In water around high tide at 12:00 (high tide is 11:40)

Arrival time: You know how long it takes for you to kit up. Subtract this from the 11:30 briefing time.

Diver grades: All levels welcome + Your non diving spouses and friends!

Other training: There will be no training during this event. 

Equipment: Full SCUBA kit including your own tank and weights.  Divers should carry knife/line cutter, whistle, safety sausage or DSMB + reel and snorkel.  Camp chair, plate, cutlery, drinking vessel.  I will bring the gazebo, BBQ, large esky & hand santiser!

Costs:  When people have signed up we will sort out food.  We will aim to do it like before with BYO protein and a salad or side to share between everyone.  Other costs will be carpooling 

Travel: Carpooling - Please consider you COVID risk and arrange your own car pooling.
