Ryan will be giving a talk on the Egadi Project. The project is an international collaboration to research the Battle of Egadi between Carthage and Rome; the culmination of the First Punic War and Rome's rise to power. This is a large scale collaboration on Marine archaeology between RPM Nautical GUE and Soperintendenza del Mare of Sicily - including artefact recovery from underwater. This will be followed by our monthly meeting. There will be an earlier - around 6:30 - unorganised social gathering outside grilled where everyone is welcome to grab food and drink whilst catching up under covid guidelines.
