The ability to provide first aid is an important skill for everyone to possess. This is particularly so for divers. Like any skill we need to practise it regularly.
HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid with CPR is a nationally accredited first aid course to give you the skills and knowledge to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty, the incident and other first aiders. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive certification.
We have opted for the INDEPENDENT STUDY OPTION. This means that there's a home-learning component that is done prior to the 2-hour practical lesson on 27 March.
The course will be run exclusively for up to 10 Brisbane-BSAC members and is offered by First Aid Brisbane.
Cost
There is no cost to participants for this course. It is funded from the Gambling Community Benefits Fund grant awarded to us last year. Anyone who is interested can and should express interest but if the course is over-booked preference will be given to members who dive frequently with the club and particularly to instructors and those who organise trips. You will not be registered on this course until you receive confirmation from the DO.
Unique Student Identifier
Before starting the course, participants who do not already have one will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This is required by all trainees doing nationally recognised training. See https://www.usi.gov.au/about for more information and go to https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi to get it.
If you would like to attend please register as soon as possible for the course.
