Cook Island double dive (12 Divers) - 10th April 2021
Organiser: Bernadette. Log in to website for email address and phone number. DM - Gavin; Assistant DM - Ross.
Diver grades: This dive will be suitable for all diver grades. Specific dive sites will be decided by the Operator (Tweed SeaSports) based on the grades of those who sign up and weather/sea conditons on the day.
Equipment: Divers must bring full diving kit excluding tanks and weights (other gear can be provided at extra cost). Divers should carry knife/line cutter, whistle, DSMB, and snorkel.
Operator: Tweed Seasports. Website: http://www.tweedseasports.com
Costs: The cost is $145 for 2 dives, including tanks and weights (cost will reduce to $121 if 12 divers sign up). Payment into the club account will be required to confirm your place on the trip. This is not refundable due to the charter nature of the trip (i.e. we have to pay for your spot whether you show up or not). If you pull out of the trip after you have paid it is up to you to find a suitable replacement. Please also ensure you share the fuel bill if you carpool. They can provide nitrox for an extra charge (amount to be advised - you can pay this on the day, but you must tell me so they can prepare!).
You are welcome to bring your own tanks if you prefer and the operator will fill them after the dives, but please tell me ahead of time.
Travel: Meeting time is confirmed as 11.30am. Drive time will be approximately 1.5 hours from Brisbane. If people want to carpool, let me know. Please also let me know if you are happy to drive and how many people (plus dive kit) you think you can fit in your car.
Diving: I have currently reserved the whole boat for our exclusive use. This gives us 12 spots.
Training: This is intended to be a pure pleasure dive. However, please advise the DM in advance if you wish to complete any training exercises. Provide at least 1 week's notice. Training will be subject to availability of instructors, Operator requirements, and conditions.
General information: It may be useful to bring sunscreen, a hat and a windproof jacket to keep you protected from the elements. Also seasickness medication for those who need it! Snacks and hot drinks will be provided for the surface interval.
Waitlist: If the trip is fully booked on the website and you want to be put on a waitlist (in-case of drop outs or more spaces being added) please send me an email.
